» Alexander is a famous writer who is very ill and has only a few days to live. He prepares his farewell by preparing his childhood home by the sea. He finds a letter from Anna, his long dead wife, and understands how much she loved him. A love that he took for granted. In a heavy rain hits Thessaloniki Alexander a little Albanian boy as he tries to reunite with the boy\'s grandmother in Albania. On their mystical journey develops a touching friendship between them. Past and present are woven together and the memories are real.

Alexander är en berömd författare som är väldig sjuk och endast har några dagar kvar att leva. Han förbereder sitt avsked med att iordningsställa sitt barndomshem vid havet. Han hittar ett brev från Anna, hans sedan länge döda hustru och förstår hur mycket hon älskade honom. En kärlek som han då tog för given. I ett regntungt Thessaloniki träffar Alexander en liten albansk pojke som han försöker återförena med pojkens mormor i Albanien. På deras mystiska resa utvecklas en rörande vänskap dem emellan. Då och nu vävs samman och minnen blir verklighet.
