Documentário investigativo que conta a história de uma lista pública de 14 pessoas marcadas para morrer, em Rio Maria, no sul do Pará. Muitos dos ameaçados foram mortos. O então jovem padre Ricardo Rezende, um dos ameaçados de morte, cansado de recorrer com às autoridades, rezar missas de sétimo dia e confortar viúvas e órfãos, tem o apoio da equipe de agentes de pastoral da Comissão Pastoral da Terra e dos líderes sindicais da região. Juntos organizaram uma estratégia para suspender a sequência macabra. O filme mostra esse intricado e perigoso universo sem lei, ordem ou justiça, onde a realidade parece pura ficção.

This Man Will Die - A Modern Western (2008)

Investigative documentary that tells the story of a public list of 14 people marked for death in Rio Maria, in southern of Para, Brazil. Many threatened were killed. The then young priest Ricardo Rezende, one of death threats, tired of appeal with the authorities, masses of the seventh day and to comfort widows and orphans, the team has the support of pastoral agents of the Pastoral Land Commission and the union leaders region. Together they organized a strategy to stop the macabre sequence. The film shows that intricate and dangerous world without law, order or justice, where reality seems pure fiction.
