Een team van duikers zijn op expeditie naar de grootste, mooiste en minst toegankelijke grotten op aarde. Door een tropische storm worden ze gedwongen dieper de grotten in te gaan. Maar wanneer zijn onbekende vluchtweg geblokkeerd is door een vloedgolf wordt Frank\'s team inclusief zijn zeventienjarige zoon Josh en financier Carl Hurley gedwongen hun plan radicaal te wijzigen. Met slinkende voorraden moeten ze door een onderwater doolhof navigeren om een uitweg te vinden.

A team of divers on an expedition to the largest, most beautiful and least accessible caves on earth. By a tropical storm, they are forced to go deeper into the caves. The experienced diver Frank McGuire, the Esa-ala caves in the South Pacific for months studied. But when his unknown escape route is blocked by a tidal wave is Frank\'s team, including his seventeen year old son Josh and financier Carl Hurley forced to radically change their plan. With declining resources they need to navigate an underwater maze to find a way out.
