Torrent description

Hardware Media Player Fix for Windows 7 network only.

These fixes were developed on Windows 7 Professional Edition and may not precisely match any other version. It is most unlikely that any of these changes will in any way harm your installation but bear in mind that every change is a process of opening up the designed-in security. This should be fine though on a domestic or small business setup. Please make sure that you have a good Internet Security solution (including firewall) in any event.
This document has an embeded registry fix file that will insert appropriate registry keys into Windows 7. This will allow your Hardware media player to read and playback Media Files over a network. It also includes a set of instructions to adjust any other settings that might need setting to allow correct playback.
If you are an experienced/advanced user you may well get to the same point after several hours of research, but for the price of this set of instructions is it worth it?
These instructions are to allow access to media files from a computer to a Hardware Media player over a network where Windows 7 is installed on a PC. The instructions may well apply to any hardware Media Player / Streamer, but they have only been tested on Sumvision 1080P MKV Media players (both Enclosure and Adaptor types). Usually, product manufacturers fixes revolve around uPnP but the results are frequently poor. The only really satisfactory solution is a registry fix, and making sure that the share settings are otherwise correct.
Windows 7 built-in security is more restrictive than its predecessors (especially XP and earlier) and so puts more hurdles in the way of anonymous and non-computer networking clients, such as media players. This is easily overcome by opening up a few settings on your PC.
