Hey guys! Long time since I posted a torrent due to living conditions but now I\'ve got a pretty good internet hook up so let\'s see if this works. I found a (VHS Rip) copy of Derek Jarman\'s In the Shadow of the Sun online not too long ago, and I noticed it sounded and looked pretty nice when broadcast to my TV, so I had a thought: Why not add an audio track from BronzeBed\'s recording of TG\'s NY performance (that I got from dime) of the new soundtrack? I did so using ConvertX (converted to 5.1 Dolby Digital but it\'ll still play in stereo systems) and lo and behold, in a home theater, it really sounds like you\'re there! I synced the best I could and tweeked a little bit here and there to match the audio length with the video length but I think it came out quite good, especially since a retail version may never appear. Again extreme thanks to BronzeBed: without her awesome recording and kind permission this would not have been posible. I was at the first Chicago Show of TG\'s US tour, front of the crowd and it really is how I remember it. A little warning tho, if you didn\'t make it to these shows, realize the bass was insane, and will rattle your speakers if you try to play the new soundtrack through a stereo TV. Like I said the new soundtrack is really for home theaters so if you choose to listen to it through a tv, start the volume low and work up... Keep in mind the original soundtrack is on here too and should work perfectly on a TV as is. Here\'s a little background on the film from Wikipedia....

In the Shadow of the Sun is an improvised \"score\" created by Throbbing Gristle for the Derek Jarman 1980 super-8 film bearing the same title.[1] It is an example of what Throbbing Gristle founder Genesis P-Orridge called \"Ambient video\", used to \"enhance or complete an environment.\"[2] Throbbing Gristle played a new version of the soundtrack live during their April 2009 US tour.
Musical style
According to Simon Ford, both the movie and its accompanying soundtrack \"revelled in distortion, chance, and formlessness.\"

In the Shadow of the Sun has drawn comparisons with the ambient music works of Brian Eno, Pink Floyd circa Ummagumma (1969) and krautrock stahlwarts Ash Ra Tempel.
Reception
In the Shadow of the Sun premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in February 1981, where it was received enthusiastically by the audience.

Equipment used: Sony Hi-MD Walkman MZ-RH1, Sound Professionals Mic SP-CMC-2A, and Sound Professionals Mini Battery Module SP-SPSB-8.

PPS I forgot to mention this is NTSC... If you need to convert to PAL, ConvertX will do it with the Video_TS files or I think DVD Shrink does it too.. Maybe One Click.. If you\'re a bit unsure let me know and I can see what I can do...
