Description
Film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webbers musical. Beneath the Paris Opera House lurks a mysterious Phantom who becomes obsessed with Chorus Singer, Christine. When she falls in love with someone else, the Phantom is overcome by jealousy and imprisons her within his underground lair. Only her true love can save her.
Joel Schumacher's imaginative film version of Gaston Leroux's novel features 15 minutes of new music specially composed for the project by Andrew Lloyd-Webber.

Den magnifika och världsberömda berättelsen om fantomen som terroriserar skådespelarna och arbetarna på Operan i Paris medan han uppvaktar den vackra och skönsjungande körsångerskan Christine. Fantomen lyckas driva sopransolisten till vansinne så att hon en kväll lämnar operan och därmed ger Christine möjligheten att ta över hennes roll. Detta blir dock för mycket för sopranen som, rädd att någon annan ska ta hennes plats, återvänder kvällen därpå.

Fantomen kräver dock att Christine ska få fler huvudroller och galen av kärlek till henne, kidnappar han Christine för att göra henne till sin brud. Vicomte de Chagny tvingas ta upp jakten för att rädda henne...
