HoI3SpyTool

What Does It Do?

Allows you to view/modify the number of spies, their priority and mission for any country from a savegame.

Basically, you open a savegame and then you have a drop down to choose between the different countries.

Two lists will appear with sortable columns. The top list shows you the spies currently working for the country chosen. The bottom list are the spies currently working against the country chosen - or enemy spies.

You can modify the amount of spies, their priority and what mission they do. Note the missions available to the home country for spies in its own territory have a different set of options for mission - as in the game.

So its not only useful just to see whos messing with you but also lets you clean up spies from your allies or annexed countries (both of which are invincible to counterespionage due to a bug AFAIK)

Please post full details of any bugs you encounter so that I may quickly fix them.

HoI3EventTool

What Does It Do?

As requested by Devildread, with improvements suggested by Sgt. Grumbles - this tool allows you to load event files and decision files from a specified root data directory and an optional mod file and then displays them in in separate lists on different tabs.

For events there is a column for its ID, its name tag and if the event was able to have its name tag mapped to a string within the localisation text file (English right now, if there is demand I will make a language chooser) then it will be displayed in the third column. If not, it will remain blank. (perhaps its missing this data or perhaps it does not need to have one?)

You can right click an event to open a nice details window which displays the file the event came from, what line in the file it is on, and all the code for the event.

For decisions it displays a column for its name, the string its name maps to in the localisation file and as Devildread requested, a column listing any events this decision references using country_event =. You can right click that decision to also get its details plus you can choose to load the details of one of the events it references. If that event does not exist its ID will be surrounded by square brackets (i.e. [2061] )

There is syntax checking and it will popup with whatever syntax errors it finds. With my version of HoI3 1.2 apparently there are 2 syntax errors... you might want to fix those because my parser is strict, it will quit the file once it encounters those errors. Perhaps the HoI3 one is more lenient and continues on. So in my case any events after the syntax error int the same file would NOT load.

As of right now it is read-only. No editting through the tool which is why I have a convenience button to open the file for you in the details window, and show you what line it is.

I do plan on expanding this to allow modifying and add more information but I need your help to tell me what you need. What do you feel you spend too much time on when editting events and what is so tedious that it saps the motivation out of you. Those are the things Id like to address most.

Please post detailed bugs reports here and any suggestions you have to improve this.
