CURRAHEE 1942. Toccoa, in Georgia.

Een bont gezelschap jonge vrijwilligers wil zich laten inlijven bij één van de nieuwste regimenten van het Amerikaanse leger, de parachutisten.

Onder het bevel van de medogenloze luitenant Sobel groeien de groentjes van de kerverse Easy Company uit tot het absolute elite van het leger.

Tijdens de opleiding ontstaat er een vete tussen Sobel, die door de manschappen veracht wordt en luitenant Winters, een jonge officier die bij de compagnie respect en bewondering heeft afgedwongen.

DAY OF DAYS Op 6 juni 1944, D-Day, steken duizenden vliegtuigen met para's het Kanaal over naar Frankrijk, waar ze zwaar onder vuur komen te liggen.

Geen enkele van de manschappen landt op de voorziene plaats en velen verliezen bij de operatie hun wapens en voorraden.

Winters sluit zich aan bij geïsoleerd geraakte soldaten en ze gaan samen op zoek naar hun éénheden.

Wat later moet Winters de aanval op een versterkte artilleriepositie leiden, een succesvolle missie die hem niet alleen het bevel over de compagnie oplevert, maar ook het verlies van zijn eerste man.

CURRAHEE 1942. Toccoa in Georgia.

A motley crew of young volunteers will arrange to be incorporated in one of the newest regiments of the U.S. Army, the paratroopers.

Commanded by the ruthless Lieutenant Sobel grow the vegetables of the Company from Kerver Easy to the absolute elite of the army.
