Torrent description
Ex-regular Roberta Shore, who played Betsy Garth
for the first 3 years, returned as a guest star in
this early 4th Season episode. It would be her last
appearance on The Virginian, and this is a rare
opportunity to see a TV show from the 1960s give a
character a proper send-off.
The main storyline is that Betsy falls for a former
preacher (played by Glenn Corbett), who happens to
get involved in a mining dispute after he saves a
man's life. They later decide to get married at the
ranch, with Judge Garth himself presiding.
Roberta retired from acting in 1965 to raise her
family, although over 40 years later she still
appears at western conventions with some of her
former Virginian co-stars including James Drury,
Gary Clarke, Clu Gulager, and Randy Boone.
The other familiar guest stars in this episode
are John Doucette and Virginia Christine.
