The Mumbles Railway (1960) [VHSRip (DivX)]



The Mumbles Railway ran from Swansea to Oystermouth and Mumbles Pier Head in Wales. Originally a horse drawn railway built in 1804 to move limestone, in 1807 the railway was the first to carry passengers. Steam power replaced the horses in 1877, and later, in 1928 was electrified. Eventually, on January 5th 1960 the line closed.



This short film directed by Robert A Symes Schutzmann looks at the line in its last days of operation.
