christian (guit.) and manfred (drums) met up in amstetten, lower austria, in fall 2002 and started jamming some riffs together. both felt the desire to write some heavier tunes compared to the material created in their previous bands. and they soon felt that this could happen in this constellation. so the line-up was completed with stefan (guit.), andreas (voc.) and peter (bass): facial climax were porn, ähh, born.

they didn\'t waste much time on checking out coverversions, but immediately started to write the very first facial tracks. just three months after the band\'s formation the first demo \"demoRalized\" (2003) has been recorded. the great reactions and some really cool gigs (with emil bulls,ektomorf, as we fight, tribute to nothing...) pushed facial climax to an even higher level, as far as their technical abilities and the versatility of their songs are concerned.

2005 was the year of the second demo
\"melanCholeric schizoPhobia\". those seven tracks reflect not only the band\'s demand to create straightforward music to freak out on stage. every song shows new facets of the extended musical spectrum of facial climax. again a number of great reviews and live performances followed this release of which the gigs with pro-pain (15th year anniversary tour), agothodaimon (precursors of eternity-festival) and cadaveres (hellfest - viper room) where the most memorable ones.

but still the creation of the facial metal style had not been completed - as in their opinion the musical evolution of a \"progressive\" band should never be finished. so facial climax integrated more melodies, thrash-influences and challenging arrangements into their sound - an absolutely naturally feeling process for the band\'s members. the result
of this development is the new facial masterpiece

face of gray pulchritude\" (2008),

the first official full length album, that has been released in
collaboration with burnside records. unexpected melodies, breaks and rhythms will cross your way on this album, but not for the sake of acting as sick as possible. everything fits and flows perfectly and profits by the intense and aggressive, thrash-metal-like production, mastered by professional sound-engineer martin scheer (drummer of \'excuse me moses\'). in combination with the lyrical content (based on
oscar wilde\'s novel \"the picture of dorian gray\" and the great artwork of matthias auer that refers to the title track\'s concept as well as to socio-critical topics, the whole package of \"a face of gray pulchritude\" represents the musical maturity the band has acquired in the past six years. so check out the formidable variety of first class metal tracks like \"lurch in my cradle\", \"time to judge\", \"ghosts gliding\" or \"full of insanity\".

until now only a few gigs have been played in support of this album (e.g. with hollenthon and mastic scum - planet music), due to the fact that unfortunately lead singer andreas left the band in 2008 because of setting new priorities in his life. he started a family and therefore decided to quit the band. so he had to be replaced by a throat-monster called phil watkins (guitarist in \'selling the drama\') who already had demonstrated his impressing vocal abilities as tour-singer of \'before the fall\'. so watch out for 2009, when facial climax will hit the stages again, stronger and heavier than ever!
