The movie is also known as \"La vita è bella\". The movie was the Winner of 3 and nominated for 4 additional Academy Awards, as well as 52 foreign awards and an additional 27 nominations. This was ripped from the NTSC DVD release which had a very fatal flaw: The original widescreen video was mistakenly coded in 4:3 aspect ratio. To correct this, we rECOnstructed the video as follows: we needed to crop the video and re-encode (CCE 3-pass) in 16:9 at a bitrate sufficient to fit on a single sided DVD. The resulting video is not as detailed as we would like, but at least the entire screen is filled when played back normally on the set top box. We chose to include the English version of the film, so that the credits are in English, but we have included both Italian and English (dubbed) audio tracks (Dolby Digital 5.1) so you can decide for yourself which language is best. Since there are also subtitles in English, I prefer to use the Italian soundtrack to hear the original actor\'s voices, while using the subtitles to understand those Italian words I don\'t understand in English. The movie combines a curious mixture of comedy, tragedy, and romance. I\'ve never seen anything like it before. Having just traveled to Italy and visited the city of Arezzo, I particularly enjoyed seeing the spectacular sights.
