Torrent description

A Sense Of Freedom - The Jimmy Boyle Story [1979] (A UKB-KvCD By BINGOWINGZ)

Release Date:18 October 1985 (USA)
Genre: Crime | Drama | Thriller
RunTime: 1 Hour 25 Minutes
Plot:

Absolutely uncompromising "tough as nails" 1979 gangster film about real life Scottish hoodlum Jimmy Boyle, is a real sleeper, but well worth seeking out !! Directed by talented UK director John Mackenzie, I think "A Sense of Freedom" was somewhat overshadowed by Mackenzie's equally impressive and more highly publicised film "The Long Good Friday" released the following year.

Mackenzie deserves a pat on the back for giving the British crime cinema a well deserved double shot of testosterone, at a time when it was fairly dormant.

Dynamic actor, David Hayman is simply sensational as the anti-social & violent Jimmy Boyle. Boyle and his gang are running protection & money lending rackets in Glasgow in the 1960's and falling foul of the law every step of the way. Boyle is convicted for a heinous crime and sent inside the Scottish prison system where he declares a brutal war on the guards & administration of each prison. However, Boyle begins to take stock of the damage & futility of his hostile actions, and the film then takes a surprising turn !!

"A Sense of Freedom" certainly won't be for everyone's tastes as there are numerous violent confrontations, and in one scene, Boyle takes to "decorating" his cell in a most disgusting manner. However, those film fans looking for a first class prison drama, with a believable cast, that really delivers the goods will not be disappointed.

How to watch a UKB KVCD:

If you wish to View on your PC then use a media player called VLC IPB Image
which supports Cue and Bin format movies, but be warned, this and
Windows Media Player have been known to show incorrect movie runtimes
i.e. 37 minutes when the movie is actually 2 hours long.

You can download the VLC media player from www.videolan.org but it's NOT
recommended to view KVCD's on your PC as they're specifically encoded
to view on your standalone DVD Player and TV. If you are planning on
watching on your PC then please don't moan about quality as you have
been warned. If you wanted to watch on you PC then you've downloaded
the wrong release, You want a DIVX or XVID version so I'll say it
one more time, don't moan about quality as you have been warned.

To burn to disc using Nero just right click on the cue file which
will be the smallest of the 2 then choose Open With and browse to
your Nero.exe (possibly just called Nero) file. (Located in Program
Files / Ahead / Nero folder) Ensure the *Always use the selected
program to open this type of file* box is ticked, this way next time
all you have to do is double click the cue file and the burning
interface will open, now choose which speed you would like to burn
your disc at. It's recommended to burn at no more than 8x, Or 10x if you
burn at a faster speed this may impair the quality and make the
video pixelated. [Info By FFCcottage]
