Nachdem ein böser Fluch in Japan verbrannte Erde hinterliess und soeben den letzten
überlebenden von früher erledigte, zieht er um in dessen Appartement in einem Mietshaus
in Chicago, dicht gefolgt von einer jungen Japanerin, die im Gegensatz zu den Hausbewohnern
genau weiss, womit man es zu tun hat. Weniger Ahnung haben die beiden Schwestern und ihr
psychologisch unausgeglichener Bruder, die das Haus gerade renovieren. Als der Fluch nach
den Hausbewohnern greift, merkt ein kleines Mädchen als erstes, das etwas nicht stimmt.
