Rocky Joe torna dopo circa un anno, apparentmente non e' cambiato, il talento e' sempre lo stesso, ma dopo le prime vittorie, Danpei s'accorge che, durante i match sostenuti, Rocky non ha assegnato neppure un colpo al volto, come se fosse avesse un blocco o un qualche impedimento. Durante l'incontro con un campione locale, Rocky Joe colpisce l'avversario alle tempie ma improvvisamente ha un rigetto che lo spinge a vomitare sul ring; cio' era dovuto ad il senso di colpa dovuto alla morte dell'amico/rivale Rikishi, causata proprio da un colpo alla tempia.
Nessuno allora accetta di affrontare Rocky, che vede finita la sua carriera. Ma il destino e' pronto a dargli un'altra occasione, sfidando il numero 6 al mondo, il pugile venezuelano Carlos Rivera.
