Jane Gogan, Commissioning Editor, Drama, RTÉ Television, said: "I believe that Whistleblower is at the heart of our remit as a public service broadcaster. RTÉ has comprehensively reported on the issues that ultimately led to the Fitness To Practice Inquiry into Dr Neary through news & current affairs reports over a decade. What this drama did was to convey to a wider audience the human cost of the injustices that were exposed and the power of the individual in effecting change. That this drama, sensitive and challenging as it was, engaged the audience in such numbers is a tribute to all who worked on it and whose story it represents. I want to thank Saffron Productions for their nuanced, faithful and responsible translation of this story to drama."
Whistleblower has also been recently shortlisted for the Prix Europa 2008 in the 'TV Fiction' category.
