Tortoise vs. Hare is the second animated film in the "Unstable Fables" series. The direct-to-DVD film, based on Aesop's fable "The Tortoise and the Hare," is set to be released on DVD on September 9, 2008[4], After the sudden death of his estranged son in rural Japan, an American man (Tortoise) must go there to claim some important family items. While there, he discovers some secrets his son left behind, including a cave that leads them deep down into the bowels of the planet. Having once been a brash policeman in a decaying L.A. Tortoise convinces himself he has nothing to fear. The movie turns to a flashback to a time that criminals are being killed in a very odd fashion by a nearly invisible alien hunter who is searching for trophies (Hare.) When he asks the alien if it is possible to stop killing people, Hare’s reply is, "when the Angels win the pennant". Tortoise then prays and asks if they could help the team. When Tortoise goes to a game, he sees some Angels come down from the sky and they help the players make some astounding catches and hits.
