Rope is undoubtedly the finest of the great Alfred Hitchcock movie creations.
Jimmy Stewart gives a characteristic display of his finesse and astute read of personalities that get up to no good.
This a a truly interesting and important movie as it delves psychologically in to personality types (the college geek type in fact) who tend to harbor psychosis that is hard to explain in terms of human understanding. So alienated is the mindset that is being explored (from human) that a delicious act of murder is seen as nothing more than an assertion over an inferior being by reason of the force of assertion alone.
Set as a play production, all the action takes place in the setting of a living room mainly,it is riveting at times but filled with great charm and appeal for those that appreciate old fashioned ways of articulating and acting. the picture is rich and quite worth preserving as a memory of one of the finest movies of the period.
This is a DivX conversion at 720 x 480 video (800k bit rate) The audio bit rate
