PÅ SVENSKA: En fantastisk film om 2 unga 18 åriga tjejer som lever i gammal-Laestadius-sekten i finska Österbotten. Hela deras liv har de hört predikan om hur "hela världen är ond". Nu vill dom resa 700 km till Helsingfors och ta reda på det själv. Är Helsinki "Hell or Heaven"? En väldigt intressant film som häller en i greppet från början till slut. Och nu har du här texter till den (rippade med SubRip) och testade av mej - fungerar perfekt). Dvd-Divx-player kompatibelt: JA. Bara du kommer ihåg att bränna filmen och texten med exakt samma namn. t.ex.: Förbjuden Frukt.avi och Förbjuden Frukt.srt

ENGLISH: Hi ! Finland has a very healthy movie industry with many quality movies coming steadily. Agreed, too many war movies. But sometimes somebody thinks that there is more to life than a war that ended 65 years ago. Here is such a case. The best Finnish movie in many years if you ask me. The movie is a co-production with Sweden. Lars Levi Laestadius was from Sweden.

PLOT (No spoilers) Written by me:
It tells the story of two 18-year old teenager girls who have been born into a very strict Christian sect where all this is forbidden: Contraceptives, alcohol, TV, rhythm music, premarital sex, smoking, make-up, etc. It is not a true story, but it could be, this Laestadius-sect is real and all their beliefs told here are real. Laestadianism is a Lutheran revival movement started in the mid-1800s. There are 110.000 members in this sect (of 5 million people in Finland). These 2 girls wants to experience the world and travels 700 kilometres to Helsinki. Will it be Heaven or Hell there? Will they sink into Hell in Helsinki (the capitol of Finland)? What does the world have to offer them when they have heard all their lives that "The whole world is bad, wicked, ruled by the Archfiend, the Devil?" Can there be anything good in the world?
Great story then and very good acting. This movie is not judging anybody and it is not against Christian beliefs. It is a very universal movie because this sect could as well be any other like the Mormons, Jehovah's witnesses, Pentecost churches, etc., and actually why not even Muslim or Hindu sects ? It is telling a very heartfelt story about 2 girls growing up in a sect almost as strict as the Amish-sect in the USA. How it is to build up your own beliefs other than those told by the preachers and your own parents - and the struggle or battle within a human soul when he/she faces that moment in her life...

Superb movie. Highly recommended. I ripped subs in ENG SWE FIN to you (with SubRip). Works perfectly (i have tested). Audio/Video quality is superb too (i made this with slowest 2-pass vbr settings). Looks just like the PAL DVD to me. Some of you already know that i am always watching my rips on my 37" LCD TV and i want it to look really good, otherwise they get no release by me!

You can watch this movie+subs with your standalone dvd-divx-player if you remember to burn them with exact same names, example: Forbidden Fruit.avi and Forbidden Fruit.srt (PS3 by Sony doesn't show subtitles). Unfortunately, older dvd-players may show a jerky picture, but players from 2008-2009 should give a smooth perfect playback (as my JVC 2008 and Pioneer 2008/2009, i tested, plays wonderfully).
