Tiger Piss formed in the winter of 2007 in New Paltz, NY. Drummer Kevin Sharp and guitarist Danny Asis grew fond of Singer/Bassist Lara Hope through her previous band, The Red Hopes. Danny Asis and Rev. Kev approached Lara Hope after hearing of the group's break-up. She quickly accepted their proposal and Tiger Piss was formed.
Tiger Piss is a band of varied influences with a unique combined style of punk and rock n' roll. Their style has been dubbed "Weirdo Rock" and "Sex Punk" by media outlets across the country. The bluesy belting vocal style, bouncy bass lines and robust stage presence of Lara Hope fused with Danny Asis' affinity for technical, metal inspired guitar provides a strong foundation of music. Their elements, meshed with Rev. Kev's ability to turn a beat upside down and provide a slick solid backbone creates a sound they call Tiger Piss.
In February of 2008, they set off on the first of three national tours to promote their debut EP "Ear to the Wall", an eight song collection that spans the musical spectrum from fifties style sing-along songs to full speed punk rock. Embracing the old school DIY attitude of rock bands before them, they played rock clubs, basements, hookah lounges, bowling alleys, and coffee shops across the country. They booked and promoted all of the shows themselves along the East Coast, the South, and the Mid-West, eventually becoming known for their hard working, energetic, booze-swilling, and highly entertaining live shows.
Since forming, Tiger Piss has traveled over 25,000 miles and played over 100 shows in more than 22 states, most of which have been chronicled through blogs to keep their fans close. In February 2009, they released their second EP "Shake it, Don't Fake it" which defines a new distilled sound they call their own. Tiger Piss will be on tour for the majority of 2009 to promote their new album and continue to reconnect with Tiger Piss enthusiasts across the country.
