Allen West presentation August 8, 2008 to the Pecos Archaeological Conference at the University of Northern Arizona's Cline Library Auditorium*******
The Younger Dryas Impact Event, postulated here by researchers Ted Bunch, Richard Firestone and Ken Tankersley, may have led to the extinction of large mammals, such as mammoths, saber tooth cats, and 33 other species of large mammal 12,900 in the past. Perhaps more disturbing is the effect the event had on the first inhabitants of America, the so-called Clovis people. The Clovis culture disappears at the same time the animals do. This short excerpt provides some background on this cosmic incident and the evidence supporting it.

(About eight or nine minutes of this presentation concerning nanodiamonds has been edited pending publication of the evidence. (Yah...BULLSHIT)

Home Planet By John Walker.Software.95.98.2000.XP.EXE

I like to think of Home Planet as putting a somewhat different spin on the Earth and sky. It allows you to view:
• An earth map, showing day and night regions, location of the Moon and current phase, and position of a selected earth satellite. Earth maps can be customised and extended by editing a DLL which provides maps to Home Planet.
• A panel showing detailed position and phase data for the Sun and Moon.
• Panel showing positions of planets and a selected asteroid or comet, both geocentric and from the observer's location.
• A sky map, based on either the Yale Bright Star Catalogue or the 256,000 star SAO catalogue, including rendering of spectral types, planets, earth satellites, asteroids and comets. Celestial coordinates are included, and an extensive and user-extensible deep-sky database includes all Messier objects and many of the NGC objects. Precession and proper motion are accounted for in the display.
• Databases of the orbital elements of 5632 asteroids and principal periodic comets are included, allowing selection of any for tracking. These databases can be user-extended using standard orbital elements. MS-DOS utility programs are included which convert asteroid and comet orbital elements in the form published in Minor Planet Electronic Circulars (MPECs) to the CSV format used by Home Planet. Subscribers to the MPECs can thus easily add newly reported asteroids and comets to the database. Source code for these programs is included.
• A telescope window which can be aimed by clicking in the sky map or telescope itself, by entering coordinates, or by selecting an object in the Object Catalogue (see below). Limiting magnitude, labeling, coordinate display, etc. can be defined by user. Right click on an object to display its entry in the Object Catalogue. Stellar magnitudes can be plotted for stars in a given magnitude range in the telescope window. This makes it easy to create comparison star charts for variable star observing.

Tunguska - (c) Diane Neisius.GPL'ed free software.EXE

Impactors Add-on for Celestia (includes Tunguska)

Description of the Program:

Tunguska uses differential equations of motion and of ablationfrom a paper by
Hill and Goda [1]. These equations describe in a simple way the movement and
mass loss of an asteroid or meteoroid in the earth's atmosphere.
The solution of the equations is performed numerically by a Runge-Kutta scheme
of 4th order.

The program expects the input data from a file named tunguska.in, which must
be located in the actual directory. It reads a char specifying the material of
the meteoroid (iron, silicate or chondrite), the diameter, the speed and the
angle it toches the atmosphere. The last value is the time step which will be
used to compute the solution values.

Output for a time step is: exact time in seconds, mass of meteoroid in tons,
actual speed in km/s, actual heigth in km, actual traveled path over ground in
km, diameter of the meteoroid in meters and the absolute magniude (normed to a
distance of 100 km).
Diameter here means the body itself only if it didn`t break up yet, otherwise
it is the diameter of the debris cloud!
The particular events like break up, separation etc. will be noted between the
solution lines by a short message if they occur.

Normally, the program runs through a couple of phases. First the meteoroid
entering the atmosphere only is decelerated and ablates. Somewhen the ram
pressure surpasses the material strength, the body breaks up in a debris cloud
("inital breakup").
Soon the debris has moved apart enough to feel the ram pressure for itself in
full. The higher stages of fragmentation begin ("fragmentation continues").
If the debris cloud is decelerated by aerobraking still more, the ram pressure
lowers and the fragmentation stops ("fragmentation stops").
The debris still moves more apart, the diameter of the cloud increases more
and more, until the cloud can't viewed any longer as a coherent object
("separation,...").
Then, the biggest fragment out of the cloud is traced until the program stops.
It does if there is an impact to the earth's surface or the rest mass of the
meteoroid is ablated ("burned") totally.

Much thanks to the original people who UP'd these!!! You who help me on my journey!!

We WANT to:
Gather and cross-check vast amounts of knowledge in many dozen specialized fields from scientists and researchers around the globe in addition to studying hundreds of historical documents spanning back to the dawn of history. These fields include archeology, geology, astro, geo & quantum physics, ancient languages & civilizations, paleontology, ancient history, genetics and others.

Events shape our lives, even distant and dark ones. From the time I was a wee little one, I have stopped my fear of dark places. I pick up my torch and journey alone through darkened corridors leading down into bottomless caverns of events past. I stumble upon the remnants of an intricate puzzle, which I bring back with me, and in the quiet of my dreams, are assembled before me.
