Empire Drift was formed in the Summer of ’07 but it’s origins date back many years. Best friends Dave Pfenning (Lead Vocal/Rhythm Guitar/Harmonica) and Rick Shugarman (Lead Guitar/Keyboard/Harmonica) have been jamming together for the past eight years. Together they have been in and out of several bands, but they have always been together.

Three years ago they wrote their first song, the next year they wrote two more, and ’07 marked the release of their 12-track debut album, “Realty Is Genius”. Allen Spencer (Kit/Percussion/Beat Box/Accordian/Vocal), and Dave’s twin brother, Mike Pfenning (Bass/Vocal) triggered Empire Drift’s evolution from an acoustic duo to a full-fledged rock and party band. Empire Drift is currently in the studio recording their sophomore album; look for it in ’09!
