The new Samsung LED TVs (Series 7) have a builtin media player based on ffmpeg. You can play movies directly on the TV using DLNA streaming or a USB device. The television has a network jack in the back and you can get it on your local network.

I don't know if the resolution they specify means your video has to be at that resolution or if that is the MAX resolution supported. I am guessing it is the MAX resolution supported.
I think this is a pretty exciting TV. You no longer need an external device like a popcorn hour to play video files directly on your TV.
They have these TV's currently at Best Buy in the US. I suggest bringing some of your movies with you on a Thumb drive to the store and see if they play back.
