Crown Court was courtroom drama which ran between 1972 to 1984 and shown in the afternoons on ITV where it was produced by Granada Television. A court case in the Crown Court of the fictional town of Fulchester would typically be played out over three weekdays in half-hour episodes. Although those involved in the case were actors, the jury was made up of members of the general public from the local Granada Television area and it was this jury alone which decided the verdict.

Synopsis: Douglas Cardy, headmaster of a school for mentally disabled children, is a man whose compassion and dedication to helping others has never been in question. Now he stands charged with ill-treating one one of his pupils and the deputy head, Helen Piper, is giving evidence for the prosecution.
