Plot Summary

Amanda Price (Jemima Rooper) is a devoted Jane Austen fan; often immersing herself into a world of dashing gents, elegant corsets and picturesque manor houses. Unsatisfied with her life and relationship in modern day London, Amanda's ordinary existence is changed forever when she discovers Elizabeth Bennet (Gemma Arterton) alive in her bathroom and ends up replacing her in the very 'real' fictional world of Austen's Pride & Prejudice.

When Amanda Price returns home from a bad day at work, she is amazed to find Elizabeth Bennett in her bathroom, who discloses she arrived through a long-boarded up door that leads through to her family home. Intrigued, Amanda steps through the portal and discovers herself at Longbourne...

Amanda has her work cut out when Mr Bingley fails to recognise Jane Bennet, his rightful love match, and instead falls for Amanda. She develops a plan to get their love story back on track. But although Mr Darcy despises her meddling, it is the arrival of Mr Collins and Mr Wickham that really thwarts her plans.
