'Public Eye' depicted the investigations and cases handled by the unglamorous enquiry agent, Frank Marker, an unmarried loner who is in his early forties. In 1971, Thames Television commissioned a fifth series of 13 episodes of 'Public Eye' with the character as in the previous series based in Windsor.

Regular Cast: Alfred Burke (Frank Marker) - Pauline Delany (Mrs. Mortimer) - Brenda Cavendish (Nell Holdsworth) - Ray Smith (Detective Inspector Firbank)

Episode One: A Mug Named Frank (7th July 1971)
Marker follows a lead on a shoplifting case from Brighton to Windsor, straight into the arms of the police.
