Description
"Are you of that certain age"? You'll know what I mean if you remember the show hosted by Pete Waterman and Michaela Strachan.

It was a late night clubbing show which toured various nightclub establishments, the first came from Mr Smiths in Warrington on 3 September 1988, and the final show aired on 5 December 1992 from The Discotheque Royale in Manchester. There were more than 100 shows broadcast in the four years.

Very few of these shows seem to turn up so I was glad to find it on a VHS cassette (recorded both in LP and SP mode for no apparent reason), I had trouble finding a VCR that would play it back satisfactorily. In the end I managed a reasonable video.

The soundtrack has been restored by Dr Egan, who has done his usual excellent job, removing crackles and fixing drop-outs, but stopped short of introducing needless artefacts into the finished audio, so there are still a few tape head scanning noises here and there but it sounds pretty good to me. Bearing this in mind I've encoded the audio at 192 Kbs which preserves the quality pretty well.
