Daddy Warbucks began in the early 70's, and soon shortened their name to Bux. They became a big attraction in the Washington, DC area, and would sign with Capitol Records, recording "We Come To Play" in 1973. The album was not released and the band was dropped. Members Edwin (Punky) Meadows and Mickey Jones would go on to form Angel in 1975. In 1976 the record company hoped to capitalize on Angel's popularity by finally releasing Bux - We Come To Play.
