THIS IS ONLY THE MOVIE, NO MENUS OR EXTRAS. When I borrowed the DVD from my (now) ex, I watched the extras (old interviews) but didn't like them enough to keep them. Sorry to all you purists. But it's the film that counts, right? And this Criterion version, like everything they release, is beautiful to behold.



I LOVE Classe Tous Risques (aka The Big Risk). It's a true noir; the plot is dark and existential, and happy endings need not apply. The protagonist

loves his wife and sons, but doesn't hesitate to murder anyone standing in the way of his escape. He's at best an anti-hero, and when he deems it

necessary, a cold-blooded killer. Despite this, however, I couldn't help but like him and was pulling for him throughout the film.



Jean-Paul Belmondo, in one of his earliest roles, shows just how cool is cool, man. Never to be mistaken for a pretty boy, his looks were rugged even in his youth, but oh-so-sexy.



I only discovered this film by looking up a list of classic noir films on IMDb and on the website of my local old-school video store. I decided to give it a flyer, and I am so glad I did! It now ranks as one of my fave noirs.
