The following non-bold text was in a torrent I got from Demonoid about a year or 2 ago. It is unavailable to buy for it was a very limited run on VHS so this is all you will probably be able to find of this film. The audio is not very good, it is mono. I have removed the hissing caused by either the tape being mono when captured to the vcr it was played on during capturing, or the vcr was a mono one. I also removed video noise (snow caused by VHS tapes.) I also brightened the video a little bit for it was way too dark, but not too much though, it is meant to be dark - just not that much. Then I made it a much more easy to use file size of 550MB .avi compared to its original 1300MB .MPEG. Plus, this version has much better video and audio quality for a much smaller file size. There is a little distortion in the audio in the very quiet scenes (much like the old 128kbps MP3's used to be back in the past) but, that is better than what was there - roaring hissings and buzzing from a mono audio track. I also tried to remove the wobbly line on the top and bottom of the video but I couldn't do it. I know there are ways but I have never had to do that before because I use high quality SVHS vcrs for my VHS captures, not some mono vcr. I couldn't figure out how to do it. If someone else wants to have a stab at trying, be my guest! I could upload the original 1.3GB .MPEG file... I am sorry, but I can not remember the name of the original uploader who captured this video... If I could, I would add your name in here. :) I just noticed that I spelled Independent wrong in the .avi's title. It is missing the letter D... My bad! :P


I will only seed this for a month straight, so any of you people who complete this download, please seed for as long as you can. After that month I will seed, but it will be at random times.

This is NOT the Hollywood version with Brandon Lee, this was done by a couple young (and brilliant) fans of the original comic by James O'Barr. It is VERY graphic, contains some disturbing themes/images, and is not for kids. This movie is much more faithful to the original vision of the Crow by its creator, it is darker and more tragic than the Proyas version with Brandon Lee. When this movie was originally released, I think it won an award in the New York Independent Film Festival, it was either 1998 or 1999...?

This version came about by sheer luck on my part. I was browsing Ebay a few years ago and bought a box of assorted Crow memorabilia for $60, which was mostly ordinary stuff- except this one mysterious videotape. I watched it and was blown away!! It seems to be an original copy of this movie on video tape, which I researched later and couldn't find anywhere. I haven't seen it before or since in this format, this video tape looks like an original, retail packaged version released by the creators themselves (under the company name IN-D Films). Apparently, this was released and briefly sold for about a month before the Brandon Lee film came out, until the guys were "asked" to stop distributing their amateur production. So I figure $60 was a small price to pay for such a lucky find.

Needless to say, I will NEVER sell this video, (so don't bother asking) but I can do the next best thing and offer the digital recording for download- so please SEED AND ENJOY!!

This was ripped directly from the original VHS tape to my PC, so any quality issues are there in the original as well. This is the best recording you will find. It is in mostly black and white, not quite 60 minutes in length. It is a simple MPEG-2 video clip, ready to watch or burn to a DVD. It's a large file, but I didn't want to compress it and reduce its quality.
