Stage Profile: The third stage of the Vuelta, which takes place on Monday 31st August, will link the cities of Zutphen and Venlo. Step by step, the Vuelta will leave the north of Holland to enter the tulip-growing southern provinces before heading towards Belgium. Furthermore, the internationalization of the race will see the “peloton” enter Germany during this third stage.

The Vuelta will enter Germany at kilometre 92, covering some 30 kilometres on German soil, which include one of the day’s intermediate sprints. The 189 km stage includes no climbs, with the flat route providing a new opportunity for the sprinters.
