Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) und Alfred Borden (Christian
Bale) kennen. Aus freundschaftlicher, jugendlicher
Konkurrenz erwaechst jedoch bald etwas wesentlich
Schlimmeres, denn nicht nur neidet jeder dem Anderen das
Talent, Roberts Frau stirbt auch bei einem von Alfreds
