Powers of Ten is the short title of a brief and beautiful film produced by the Office of Charles and Ray Eames in 1977. References to the film are made in wikipedia as well as in other web pages.
The original idea was due to a Dutch school teacher named Kees Boeke who wrote the little book Cosmic View: The Universe in Forty Jumps for children in 1957. A reproduction of this book can be found in web pages of CalTech and Vendian.
In 1982 the film was transformed by Philip and Phylis Morrison and The Office of Charles and Ray Eames to a book under the same title with the Scientific American Books (an imprint of W.H. Freeman and Company).
This presentation uses scanned pictures of the Scientific American Book. The reproduction of the pictures shown was made without the permission of the editor. The project is restricted to private use only.
