An old lady, writing letters for illiterate customers at Rio de Janeiro's train station, befriends a homeless child and they begin a journey across the countryside on which they learn valuable lessons about each other and the human spirit.
This film received a Golden Globe as best foreign film.
This film's in Brazillian (Portuguese).
There's subtitles in here in English and also English for hard-of-hearing (i.e. details of street sounds, door closing sounds etc alsoappear in these subtitles)
If your player refuses to play subtitles then you should change players. BlaGGiNiD recommends VLC which is available on Linux, Mac, Windows and many other platforms. It plays most formats without tedious messing about installing separate CODECs and is subtitle-friendly.
If you want to enjoy this film in its native language without subtitles then it will of course play without them.
