A Virtual Appliance of Logitech's SqueezeCenter 7.0 jukebox software.
This appliance uses the general release version (build 17793) of SqueezeCenter 7.0 installed in Ubuntu Server 7.10. VMware Tools are installed. SMB/CIFS & NFS tools are installed as well so you can point to your music share directory.
This VA is intended to be as small as possible, and pointed to an external music repository; there's not enough room on the virtual disks to store a music library (see the Instant SqueezeCenter VA for that solution).
To begin, launch the VA in Fusion for the Mac, VMware Player or Workstation, and browse to the IP address port 9000 of the VA. You will be walked through a initialization process.
There's a default directory already built for mounting your music library at /mnt/music.
You can discover the IP of the VA by logging in and issuing the 'ifconfig' command.
VM is version 6, 512MB, 1.2GB virtual disk, two vCPUs, bridged networking.
Here's some tips on mounting your music library:
For Windows shares (SMB/CIFS):
sudo mount -t smbfs -o username=yourUserName,password=yourSecret //ipOfYourServer/myshare /mnt/music
...where 'yourUserName' is your username on the server, 'yourSecret' is your password and 'ipOfYourServer' is the IP address or name of the file server.
sudo mount -t smbfs -ousername=fdonald,password=vmware //192.168.1.250/media /mnt/music
