Now, with 'Hairspray: The School Musical', Sky One is about to present one unsuspecting London high school with the challenge of a lifetime: To audition, rehearse and perform a West End worthy performance of 'Hairspray' in one summer holiday.
With the help of host and mentor Denise Van Outen (Chicago), these students will be offered the incredible opportunity to train with the best in the business, as Denise invites an array of celebrity friends with musical and acting backgrounds to give intensive master classes on their area of specialty. All the while, the kids will be racing against the clock to master their craft in time for their curtain call.
'Hairspray: The School Musical' follows the hardworking students on their rollercoaster journey from the playground to the stage; with romance, tantrums and tough decisions along the way. 'Hairspray: The School Musical' proves that theatre really is life.
