featuring DC titles published between July 1996 and September 1996

DC launches a new science fiction imprint: Helix. Its first offering is Howard Chaykin\'s Cyberella. Alas, despite high quality it -- and the imprint itself -- weren\'t much of a success; the title lasted 12 issues. In the DC universe, another good read which didn\'t find readership was Grant Morrison\'s Aztek: The Ultimate Man; it only survived for 10 issues.

Batman/Grendel: Devil\'s Riddle, the first of two new crossovers, was released. The four-part
Batman: GCPD hit the shelves along with the three-issue Superman spin-off Eradicator. In a bizarre bit of luck, Paradox Press released the first issue of a magazine and there\'s actually a scan of it: 100% True! was a World Weekly News type thing which saw two volumes released.

An anniversary to celebrate, as Detective Comics reaches issue #700. However, some sad news to announce. Apparently, that whole \"Justice League\" idea was a complete failure, as DC cancelled everything: Justice League America with issue #113, Justice League Task Force with #37, and Extreme Justice with #18. Obviously, they won\'t make THAT mistake again, right? Although it looks like they tried something called \"Justice League: Midsummer\'s Nightmare\". Must not have been any good, since nobody\'s scanned the issues...

(The trade paperback of Midsummer\'s Nightmare will appear in pack 23. Don\'t panic!)
