Torrent description

Despite eliciting worldwide support during its decades long liberation struggle, for what it said would be a non-racist, democratic South Africa, where all would be equal - Al Jazeera discovers that the African National Congress government has recreated its own new form of racism.

An interesting 22 minute program, showing that all is not well in the new South Africa.

(A minor reality check:. Its stated by various interviewed black South Africans during the program, that prior to democracy, there were no poor white people. This is completely untrue, and an example of the new black racism in action.
There were always lower working class white people (blue collar workers) - and just because Apartheid was in place, this did not mean that automatically, every white person lived a rich lifestyle.
To even suggest this, is to be rewriting reality and history - and perhaps trying to reduce sympathy for this segment of the population, who are being turned into beggars.

So what youre seeing in this program - are the formerly, always struggling, lower-working-class white people, whove now been effectively blocked from the already menial low-grade jobs, that they were doing before democracy came.

Note the attitudes from the various interviewed black South Africans, at the situation for this strata of working class whites, who've lost what little they had. As well as the anger from a Government minister, when asked the fairly obvious questions about 'what happened to the promises of a non-racially based society'.
-upped by MrFrankenstein, as part of a series of South Africa-related material.
