Crown Court was courtroom drama which ran between 1972 to 1984 and shown in the afternoons on ITV where it was produced by Granada Television. A court case in the Crown Court of the fictional town of Fulchester would typically be played out over three weekdays in half-hour episodes. Although those involved in the case were actors, the jury was made up of members of the general public from the local Granada Television area and it was this jury alone which decided the verdict.

Synopsis: Eloise Hunter is charged with attempting to blackmail Fulchester M.P. Sir Roland Richardson for money she claims she is owed by him in maintenence for their illegitimate child. Sir Roland is alleged to have already paid £200 towards the baby's welfare but when he stopped all payments Miss Hunter wrote a letter to a local newspaper exposing the MP and found herself in court.
