Crown Court was courtroom drama which ran between 1972 to 1984 and shown in the afternoons on ITV where it was produced by Granada Television. A court case in the Crown Court of the fictional town of Fulchester would typically be played out over three weekdays in half-hour episodes. Although those involved in the case were actors, the jury was made up of members of the general public from the local Granada Television area and it was this jury alone which decided the verdict.

Synopsis: Barbara Truscott, the wife of a former MP and solicitor, is accused of stealing a tin of salmon from a supermarket. Her defence claims her actions may be due to the tranquilisers she has been prescribed by her doctor for the past five years. Can she really have no memory of stealing the salmon or is she being bullied by her husband in to pleading not guilty?
