Crown Court was courtroom drama which ran between 1972 to 1984 and shown in the afternoons on ITV where it was produced by Granada Television. A court case in the Crown Court of the fictional town of Fulchester would typically be played out over three weekdays in half-hour episodes. Although those involved in the case were actors, the jury was made up of members of the general public from the local Granada Television area and it was this jury alone which decided the verdict.

Synopsis: Despite a sign reading: 'Warning - This land is patrolled by guard dogs. Transecure Ltd.'courting couple Annabel Nelson and Derek Latimer found a hole in a fence and entered the woods. When the guards spotted them both were attacked by an alsation guard dog with Derek suffering a fractured skull at the hands of one security guard using his truncheon.
Although the land had been covered by these warning signs the attack was seen as another controversial act by land developers thought to be savaging the countryside for a quick profit with guards continuig to attack the pair even when they had reached the safety of public land. The trial of the Managing Director and two Transecure guards begins today.
