PART 1 - Frank is awake ; Chris & Kim seem to be vying for who is the most devoted visitor ; Linda is feeling suffocated at Betty's ; Rachel tells Sarah that they are having trouble tracking Zoe & Emma down in America ; she is surprised to see Kathy has spent the night at the farmhouse ; Dave shocks Biff by telling him that he actually loves Kim ; Frank cannot bring himself to speak to Kim ; Chris persuades her to go home & get some rest ; Sam is upset that Nellie & Zak have rushed off to Ireland ; he is worried that they won't be back for Christmas ; Tina points out that there is not alot to rush back for anyway ; Sam has made some decorations out of newspaper ; Kelly has removed all the Christmas puddings from the shelves of the shop because they contain animal suet ; Nick is annoyed with Kathy when she says that she is going to see Frank in hospital ; she tells him " this is my business, it's my flat, it's my life. If you don't like it you know what youcan do " ; Butch is amazed to find Tina & Sam in the middle of making a Christmas pudding ; Tina wants to do things for her mum ; Butch freaks out when he sees a man with an axe looking in through the window ; Tina opens the door & tries to get rid of him ; he turns out to be their Uncle Albert (Zak's brother) ; Rachel drops Joseph off at the Woolpack ; Terry seems to like looking after him ; Jan & Ned discuss Dave & Kathy breaking up ; Jan thinks that it is probably Kathy's fault ; Uncle Albert impresses Butch & Sam when he tells them that he has "been banged up at Her Majesty's
wotsit" for most of the last fifteen years ; Zak arrives
home & Albert doesn't quite get the welcome he hoped for -
Zak punches him.
PART 2 - Albert is out cold ; Zak calls him a disgrace ;
rehearsals are underway for the nativity play in the
village hall ; Kelly is helping Robert to learn his lines,
but Alice Bates seems to know them better than him ; Des
visits Frank ; he asks Frank how he is feeling & is
stunned to hear him say " I wish him up there had made a
proper job of it " ; he doesn't think that he has much to live for now that Kim has been disloyal to him ; Des
doesn't understand ; Kathy is packing up Dave's belongings
; she blames Nick's behaviour towards Dave for making him
want to run back to Kim ; as she is rowing with Nick, Frank
is telling Des about Kim's affair ; he admits that he feels
a broken man & feels betrayed by Dave " he's taken the one
thing I wanted for myself " ; Des gives him a bottle of
scotch ; the nativity play looks like it could be chaos ;
Zak is suspicious of Albert's motives for visiting ; Albert
tells him that he has got a bit of work that he could put
Zak's way ; Zak knows that it is not likely to be legal ;
the nativity play is underway ; Robert & Donna play Mary &
Joseph ; Roy has been roped into being the back end of the
donkey ; Betty is disgusted with the script which is rather
too modern for her liking, especially when the innkeeper
suggests that they try the holiday village for somewhere to
stay " I suppose the three kings will be coming on in
shellsuits " ; Butch & Sam overhear Albert talking on his
mobile phone ; he tells them that he has got a job he needs
help with ; Chris is surprised to see Kathy at the hospital
; Kim bitchily mentions the engagement being called off ; she tells Kathy that Dave is the father of her baby ; they
both go in to see Frank ; he is sad to hear of Kathy's
break up ; Kim keeps up the charade in front of Frank &
makes Kathy feel very uncomfortable.
