Tuesday 1 August 2000 Rosa decides it's time for the family to move on. Melanie is horrified when Ian reveals the true nature of his deal with Steve. Ashley finds he is being watched and reality dawns for Jeff. Mel names her own price for Steve.

Thursday 3 August 2000 Rosa is determined to leave Albert Square, but her decision divides the rest of the family. Pauline ponders her future with Jeff. Jamie is desperate to prove his worth to an aloof Sonia and Laura wonders where she stands.

Monday 7 August 2000 Love is in the Square despite Janine's best mischief-making. Peggy is bemused when Steve books the Vic for a wedding reception and Mel is livid.

Tuesday 8 August 2000 Terry discovers an unlikely business partner in Jim, and Beppe is forced to reconsider his relationship with Sandra. Ethel's bizarre behaviour is explained to Dot when a secret is revealed. Phil is bewildered when Steve suggests a business partnership.

Thursday 10 August 2000 Dot carries the weight of the world on her shoulders as Ethel asks a favour. Melanie decides to prove she is she is no man's property. Barry is upset when Natalie's homecoming does not go as planned. Ian feels a cash flow crunch.

Monday 14 August 2000 Business seems to be booming for Ian but his private life is a little more complicated. Meanwhile, Sandra has some bad news for him in the guise of a final tax demand. Much to Ethel's dismay, Dot refuses her request, but agrees that there is one thing they must do - tell Pauline the truth. Meanwhile, as Melanie fends off Billy's advances, Steve has a challenge and proposition for Phil.

Tuesday 15 August 2000 Despite the domestic chill, Terry presses on with his pole-dancing venture. Beppe wants another child, but Sandra has other interests. When the insurance cheque arrives, Terry is quick to pocket it and organises a new image for himself. The romance of a life of leisure swiftly departs when Lisa realises that Phil expects her to be head cook and cleaner at the Mitchell residence.

Thursday 17 August 2000 Dot tries to persuade Ethel to go into a hospice, but Ethel is too busy enjoying herself. Lisa tries to play cupid with Steve and Mel. Melanie decides to prove to Steve that she is no man's property and heads for the Queen Vic to demonstrate her point. Terry is mortified when Irene discovers his seedy business plans but his attempts to make amends fall on deaf ears.

Monday 21 August 2000 A face from the di Marco past arrives in the Square. Terry finds a bargain holiday on the internet but isn't quite sure what to do.

Tuesday 22 August 2000 Jack pursues Sandra until she reluctantly agrees to meet him. However, as they rake over the past, his declarations of love fall on deaf ears. Billy persuades Mel to join him for a night at e20. However, the exposure doesn't quite have the effect Mel desired.

Thursday 24 August 2000 Mel's desperation to prove a point to Steve leads to an uncomfortable dinner date. Dot's soul searching leads her to the church. Meanwhile, Terry's web of deceit becomes even more tangled as he fills the four extra spaces on the holiday but Irene still doesn't know about his plans.

Monday 28 August 2000 (Double Episode) On the first day of their Spanish holiday, Terry and Irene come to blows, while Pat and Frank revisit their past.

Tuesday 29 August 2000 Peggy and Irene have some fun on a shopping trip. Terry is desperate to prove his worth to Irene, and enlists the help of Roy. Frank and Pat seal their illicit affair.

Thursday 31 August 2000 Irene is given an ultimatum, while a guilt-ridden Pat frantically searches for her lost earring and does her best to avoid Frank.
