This afternoon NASA inserted a new spacecraft, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, into a long elliptical orbit around the Red Planet for an extraordinary five year investigation. Revealing Mars will take an in-depth look at the mission and capabilities of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. It will clearly explain what we already know about the Red Planet from past orbiter missions, and from the amazing success of the twin rovers Spirit and Opportunity. It will examine the key questions scientists still have about Mars, and how MRO's findings will help us better understand and explore the planet.
