Day 9: Food for thought

Theres something of a rumble about the jungle these days. A strange, guttural
sound that is chorus of hunger.

Yes, things are getting so bad for the boys that they might well die if they
don't get food soon. Not that David and the rest of them are prone to a spot of
melodrama every now and again. But they really could die.

Because tonight, one topic dominated everything: food.

The boys don't have any of it (and after getting the chest question wrong things
didn't improve), while the girls have it in relative abundance. But it makes
them vomit.

Because having feasted on the jungles most precious commodity - beans - Phina
decided to decorate Snake Rock with the stuff. She claims that she is so hungry
she vomited all of the food up. We reckon she was just angling for a second
helping.

And she probably got one after Jan triumphed in tonight's spectacular trial,
Catch a Falling Star.

Pitted against Scott, Screaming Leeming had to throw herself out of a perfectly
good Cessna and catch stars as they fell through the air. And it wasn't easy.

First of all the weepy one had to conquer her fear of flying, and then she had
to direct her tandem jumper into the stars. But with the control and poise that
has typified Jans efforts over the last few days, the former newscaster soon
took control of the sky.

As Scott missed star after star, Jan collected them with ease. And by the time
they were halfway through the trial, she had already secured victory - and a
hearty meal for the girls.

The boys tried not to look too downbeat when a battle weary Scott trudged back
into camp and admitted defeat, but it wasn't long before David started musing
over what he would do to secure a meal. Let Myleene have a wee on him was the
answer.

Elsewhere on Day 9, the girls threw the Celebrity Chest in an effort to give the
boys some food, and guess who's competing in tomorrows trial? Yep, its Jan v
Scott, Round Three (don't you want to see someone else do one???)
