This torrent includes five books on making beer, wine and spirits -- including real absinthe.
I have personally used four of the five of these books with great success. I'm an avid homebrewer and the recipes in the beer book are good, if not excellent.
I've made some great fruit wines thanks to the book on wine making.
And, I have made some great distilled spirits as well. The two books on making stills/distilling alcohol are excellent resource material. They include plans to build a still at home and directions on how to operate it.
I did not use the plans to build a still -- I opted to buy a stainless steel still from an internet retailer due to outrageous copper prices and my local hardware store's lack of desire to anything shorter than a 10' stick of 2" copper pipe at $150. However, the plans are essentially the very ones that most home distillers use with great success. I know of several people who have used them to create working stills that output great hooch.
I have not used information from the book on absinthe yet. I do know several people that have and they turned out top quality absinthe.
Disclaimer: Despite what some ill-informed dumbasses would like you to believe, the home distillation of alcohol is in fact safe if you follow the instructions, use proper ingredients and use well built, proper equipment. You will not go blind or die, unless it's from alcohol poisoning from drinking too much of your homemade swill. If you believe the myths that you can go blind or die from drinking homemade booze, these books are not for you, so don't bother downloading them.
Second Disclaimer: Unless you are fortunate enough to live in New Zealand, it's probably illegal for you to distill booze at home. I make no guarantee that home distillation is legal and I am not responsible for your use of these texts. Familiarize yourself with and follow your local laws.
