Founder and Director of Behavioral Pediatrics and Family Development Inc., Dr. Michael Weiss received his Doctorate in 1986 from Tufts University. He was a Lecturer in Psychiatry at McGill University and a Staff Psychologist at the Montreal Children’s and the Jewish General Hospitals. Dr. Weiss was selected as a Clinical Fellow in Psychiatry at Harvard University and served as a Staff Psychologist at the Children’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. Weiss was the senior editor of Newborn Attention: Biological Constraints and the Influence of Experience (1991, co?edited with Philip R. Zelazo, Ph. D.), which has served as a model of sensory, perceptual, and cognitive development basic to the clinical practices of BP&FD, Inc. Dr. Weiss has also published numerous articles, chapters, and abstracts related to infant and child development, and lectures internationally on a variety of topics related to child development and developmental disabilities. Dr. Weiss is the Creator and Executive Producer of the television series Real Families featuring contemporary issues on child development and parenting.
