Alberto viene dal paese a Roma per prestar servizio nei bersaglieri. Da principio deve sopportare i continui rimbrotti del burbero maresciallo Locuzzo e le beffe di tre commilitoni, che fanno la corte alla bella Maria, figlia di un altro maresciallo, e considerano Alberto un incomodo concorrente....

Four young lads meet in the army and become friends and rivals. They help each other on one hand but fight on the other for the attentions of two beautiful girls during the war in the desert doesn't end and in this hard atmosphere the four lads get closer together; they are threatened by the Bedouins but manage to defend the fort, the army and their women. The story is adventurous and exciting that begins in Rome and ends heroically in the desert.
