Jim Gaffigan is known for being a relatively 'clean' yet hilarious (and pale) comic who can make almost any random and rarely joked about subject funny (hot pockets, manatees, and the Pope as a few examples). Here, he makes further use of that talent with this stand-up where he jokes about how lazy Americans are (trust me, the jokes don't get old), the torture induced by camping (I have to agree 100% with everything he says here), bacon, the utter pointlessness of bowling as a hobby and much more. He mainly talks about things most people aren't likely to give a second thought to, yet experience on a regular basis, thus making the jokes even funnier. Although I think Beyond the Pale and Doing My Time are still his best, this special shows he hasn't lost his touch. My only disappointment was that Jim doesn't use that pretend offended audience member voice as often here. That is one of my favorite things about his act! By the time this was over, I had laughed more in the course of an hour than I had in a long time. This is comedy no fan of stand-up should pass on and I hope to see much more from Jim in the future. The pillow jokes were funny, by the way.
