Sergente donnaiolo e soldato imbranato, amici per la pelle, ne combinano di tutti i colori in caserma. Il primo si serve del secondo per scansare il lavoro e spassarsela. Tratto da una commedia teatrale (1949) di James Allardice e praticamente confinato su un solo set, è il 3° dei 16 film che la coppia Martin-Lewis fece tra il 1949 e il 1956. Non è tra i migliori, ma due o tre gag di J. Lewis rallegrano ancora.

Martin and Lewis are former nightclub partners who are now enlisted in the Army. Sergeant Puccinelli (Dean Martin) now ranks above his former partner, Private First Class Korwin (Jerry Lewis). Puccinelli is desperately trying to get transferred from his dull job to active duty overseas. Meanwhile, all Korwin wants is a pass to see his wife and new baby. In addition, they have to avoid the wrath of Sergeant McVey (Mike Kellin). Along the way they both get to sing a few songs, and they get to recreate a scene from Going My Way where they imitate Bing Crosby and Barry Fitzgerald.
